“By far the best gift I’ve ever received,” Amy said ecstatically alongside a photo she shared on social media.
The vintage car had been a dream of Amy’s for a long time and she couldn’t contain her excitement after receiving the cherry-red 1966 Chevrolet El Camino as a Christmas gift from her beloved husband, Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dale Jr. and Amy have been married since tying the knot during a New Year’s Eve celebration as the year turned from 2015 to 2016. In 2018, the pair welcomed their first child, Isla Rose.
The Earnhardt family took some time out of their busy schedules and celebrated the holidays together – this being the very first holiday season without Dale Jr.’s mom, Brenda Jackson. Tragically, she passed away in April after a lengthy battle with cancer. Sharing the family’s holiday celebration on social media, Amy noted the family was missing her during this time of year.
Making the day a bit brighter was when Dale Jr. gave his wife the gift of a lifetime – and unveiled it to her complete surprise!
“By far the best gift I’ve ever received,” she wrote with clear excitement. “Yes y’all, Dale Jr. surprised me with a 1966 El Camino! I’ve wanted one for as long as I can remember. And It’s perfect! Momma must have been a VERY good girl this year! Thank you, honey, so much! I LOVE it! Now let’s go to HomeGoods and fill this baby up!”
The shiny red El Camino glistened in the sunshine as it sat in the driveway of their beautiful North Carolina home. Amy took a few quick photos of it, still in her pajamas, and even sat in it for a photograph with little Isla on her lap.
