Another Celebrity Was Announced As A Competitor On Dancing With The Stars
On Tuesday (May 12), Disney held their Upfronts, where the company made announcements about their upcoming programming including the next celebrity who will be competing on Season 35 of Dancing With The Stars.
The show previously announced two celebrities during their Hulu Get Real event in April: Maura Higgins and Ciara Miller, reality stars from the shows Love Island and Summer House, respectively. They both have also competed on the Emmy Award-winning reality competition series, The Traitors, but on different seasons.
The celebrity that will join Higgins and Miller in the ballroom is...Jackson Olson of the Savannah Bananas!
Derek Hough Teased The Announcement Weeks Ago
On March 28, Derek Hough, his wife Hayley, and members of their tour all stopped by a Banana Ball game in Anaheim, California and we now know that it was a huge Easter Egg!
Hough started off the dance with a small mirror ball dancing to the show’s iconic theme song. He then tossed the mirror ball to Olson! He was the only Banana Ball player involved in the dance, so we really should have put two and two together.

After the casting announcement, Hough asked Olson to show off his swing, and the baseball player immediately acted as though he was up to bat, but the judge actually meant his ballroom swing!
While Olson, who played college baseball at University of Hartford, does not have formal dance training per se, he does dance at the Savannah Bananas baseball games!
He is known as “The Greatest Showman” and has recreated multiple musical numbers from the Hugh Jackman-led movie.
It seems Olson has manifested this for a long time because his April Fools joke in 2025 was to call people and tell them that he booked Dancing With The Stars, sparking hilarious reactions.
We wonder what his baseball coach said this time…
