Two Iconic Dolly Parton Films Are Returning To Theaters For A Limited Time – See When & Where

Fans will get the chance to see two of Dolly Parton’s most iconic films back in theaters this weekend only.
The country music legend died on Tuesday, August 25, at the age of 80. Her team later revealed that she had been going through a brief battle with cancer.
In the wake of Dolly’s passing, people around the world have come together in many ways to honor her legacy.
They’ve been turning up her music, with Variety reporting that her Spotify streams in the United States alone have increased by 2,320% this week. And now, your weekend plans can include revisiting a couple of Dolly’s best performances on the big screen.
Steel Magnolias and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas are returning to theaters across the country for just a few days.
From Friday, August 28 to Wednesday, September 2, AMC Theatres will hold special screenings of both films at around 200 locations nationwide. Tickets are available under AMC’s Fans Fave pricing tier.
Then, if you live in Dolly’s home state of Tennessee, Regal Cinemas will also show the two films.
Tickets will cost just $9.25 (a nod to Dolly’s hit “9 to 5”), and every dollar of the proceeds will go to the singer’s childhood literacy foundation, the Imagination Library, and East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is a musical comedy starring Dolly, Burt Reynolds, and Dom DeLuise. Dolly Plays Miss Mona, the owner of a brothel known as the Chicken Ranch.
She faces trouble when a television personality makes it his mission to shut down the business. Miss Mona and her secret lover, Sheriff Ed Earl (played by Reynolds), then try to save it.
In the film, Dolly sang several songs, including her massive hit “I Will Always Love You.” Her performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination.
Years later, Dolly starred alongside Sally Field, Julia Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, and Daryl Hannah in the 1989 comedy-drama Steel Magnolias.
