Dolly Parton’s team plans to keep her memory and legacy alive for years to come.

On Tuesday, August 25, Dolly Parton passed away at the age of 80. Her death came after several months of health issues, and her team later revealed that she had gone through a brief battle with cancer.

One of the most extraordinary things about the “9 to 5” singer was that she never retired. Even in her final days, she was working behind the scenes on several projects for her fans.

But now that she’s no longer with us, does that mean some of those unfinished projects will never see the light of day?

Shortly after her passing, Dolly’s team shared an update on the plans she had in development and where they stand now.

“Dolly worked up until the day she died. She loved seeing her dreams come to life, and loved knowing her work brought people joy,” her longtime manager Danny Nozell said in a press release. “Ever the planner, Dolly worked with the team that she handpicked, for the past several years to build a project roadmap that will guide us for decades to come.”

Dolly had a purpose behind everything she created, and her team has vowed not to let any of her hard work go to waste.

Nozell and the rest of her team will “ensure the many dreams she had yet to fulfill are brought to life.”

He continued, “Many projects were in various stages of development, and we want to be transparent with her fans about this fact. If you see unreleased music, products, books, experiences, and campaigns launched through official Dolly Parton channels, you can have confidence in knowing that she placed her personal stamp on it.”

What Projects Was Dolly Parton Working On?

A few active projects include her recently announced avatar show, a musical documentary, a biopic, a docuseries, a scripted series, and a Billy The Kid animated series. Her team says they will announce more details soon.

The singer’s Broadway musical will also still happen.

The production, titled Dolly: A True Original Musical, was slated to take the stage at New York’s St. James Theatre, with preview performances beginning December 7 and opening night set for January 19, 2027. Everything is still moving forward as planned, with no date changes.
