It’s been almost 50 years since Fleetwood Mac released its 1977 album Rumours, which includes several notable songs, including “Dreams.”

The song, which showcases Stevie Nicks’ haunting vocal ability, has frequently been cited as one of the greatest rock songs ever recorded.

For country star Ella Langley, “Dreams” has been a go-to cover at concerts for some time, but it’s seen a shift from a largely solo effort to a duet on her Dandelion Tour.

With country singer Laci Kaye Booth serving as one of Langley’s opening acts, performing the song “Dreams” as a duet at the concerts they play together has become a tradition of sorts.

On Oct. 13 and Oct. 14, Booth’s final nights on tour with Langley saw the two perform “Dreams” together for the last couple times (for now), and the results were stunning.

Ella Langley has never shied away from sharing about her affinity for Stevie Nicks, so it’s not an act that she has made performing “Dreams” a fairly regular part of her shows over the years.

Joined by Laci Kaye Booth, who was a Top 5 finisher on Season 17 of American Idol, Ella Langley’s voice gets closer to that Fleetwood Mac sound, which is marked by harmonies with its various members, including Nicks as well as Lindsey Buckingham and the late Christine McVie.

Writing on her social media, Booth thanked Langley for her friendship and added, “Last night was my last night on the ‘Dandelion’ tour. I’ll be telling my kids about this one someday.”

Langley replied, “I love you!!! Come back already.”

Stevie Nicks’ Country Connections

While Stevie Nicks is known for rock, the iconic singer has had a unique relationship with the country music genre over the years.

In 2001, Stevie released the album Trouble in Shangri-La, which was produced by Sheryl Crow and is marked by a country sound — albeit, one that is still entirely Stevie’s — throughout.

Songs like “Sorcerer” and “Too Far From Texas” find Stevie embracing this country sound, with Sheryl even appearing in the “Sorcerer” music video.

The next year, Stevie provided vocals on Sheryl’s 2002 album C’mon, C’mon, appearing on the title track, which alludes to Stevie’s famous duet with Don Henley, “Leather and Lace.”

At the Grammys in 2010, Stevie Nicks performed “Rhiannon” with Taylor Swift.

In 2014, Stevie performed with Lady A, then Lady Antebellum, at the ACM Awards, singing Lady A’s “Golden” and Stevie’s “Rhiannon.”
