Eric Church And Luke Combs’ Concert For Carolina Raises Over $24 Million For Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts

Sheryl Crow joined Eric Church onstage for a surprise duet during the Concert for Carolina on Saturday (October 26). It was just one of many exciting moments from the star-studded benefit concert.

Church and fellow North Carolina native Luke Combs led the charge in organizing the Concert for Carolina after Hurricane Helene devastated their home state. Artists including James Taylor, Billy Strings, Keith Urban, Scotty McCreery, Sheryl Crow, and Chase Rice performed at the event, as did Church and Combs.

Concert for Carolina was held at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, home of the Carolina Panthers. The team’s owner, David Tepper, donated the use of the stadium, paid the workers’ salaries, and vowed to donate all profits from concessions to the cause.

Over 82,000 people gathered at the concert, and many others watched the livesteam at home. The event ended up raising over $24 million. That money will be split between Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, and Eblen Charities. The fundraiser remains open, if you’d like to make a donation to the cause.

Reflecting after the event, Combs said it “will undoubtedly go down as the night [he is] most proud of in [his] career.“

Sheryl Crow Joins Eric Church For Surprise Duet

Combs and Church performed extensive sets during the concert. At one point, Church told the crowd he was going to sing something he’d never performed before. That’s when he moved into singing “Picture,” the hit duet by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow.

Kid Rock and Crow released “Picture” in 2002. The song reached the 21st spot on the Hot Country Songs chart and peaked at #4 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Picture” was later nominated for a CMA Award for Vocal Event of the Year.

Church started off singing “Picture” alone at the Concert for Carolina. But since Crow was one of the performers, it only made sense to have her join him for a surprise duet!

Much to the crowd’s delight, Crow appeared onstage mid-song. She and Church took turns singing the verse, just like Kid Rock and Crow did on the recording.

Almost everyone in the crowd could be heard singing along during Chruch and Crow’s duet. It was an unforgettable moment from an unforgettable concert.
