Fans don’t know how to feel about Riley Green’s new clean-shaven look.

The country superstar stepped out this week for a private show hosted by Spotify, where he performed songs from his newly released album, That’s Just Me.

People in attendance knew they were going to get a sneak peek at songs they hadn’t heard before, but they definitely didn’t expect Green to show up without his signature mustache.

As most people probably know by now, Green’s facial hair has pretty much become his trademark over the years. Fans even show up to his concerts wearing fake mustaches.

This isn’t the first time Green has gotten rid of his facial hair, though. He’s said before that he typically shaves it off once a year during the summer. Still, every time he does, it gets a lot of mixed reactions. And this time was no different.

Spotify later shared photos of Green from his album preview party, and the comment section quickly filled up with fans sharing their opinions.

Some people loved the fresh new look Green was sporting…

“I like the change without the mustache! Makes him look younger.”

“He looks great either way.”

“Are these recent photos? You look pretty good without the mustache”

“He’s cute with or without the mustache”

Others were begging for the mustache to make a return…

“You need to grow the mustache back ASAP”

“WHERE IS IT??”

“Ummm did you shave for the plot? Because glue it back on RIGHT NOW SIR!”

“Put it back… idk what else to say.”

Riley Green Is Getting Ready To Be A Coach On The Voice For The Very First Time

Perhaps the reason for his latest shave is that Green wanted to switch things up as he gets ready to enter a new chapter in his career. In just a few days, he’ll make his debut as a coach on The Voice.

Season 30 of the singing competition will premiere on Monday, September 21. The other three coaches joining him will be Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and Queen Latifah.

And, not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but Green has already been confirmed to return to the show for Season 31 next year.
