Fisherman In Texas Lands 200-Pound Alligator Gar
on Dec 13, 2019
Texas fisherman Chris Hernandez was out for a day of fishing on the river in San Benito, when he had to put some muscle into reeling in the biggest catch of his life.
Hernandez found himself on the end of a tug-of-war match with a 200-pound alligator gar. It took him 40 minutes to reel in the catch.

“He was dragging me all over the river,” Hernandez said, “For a minute I thought I was going to lose my pole because it was like halfway in the water.”
Once Hernandez finally got the fish on land, he realized the giant was a foot taller than him. He was able to get the fish home by strapping it to the hood of his truck.
“This was an awesome experience,” Hernandez said.
What do you think of his catch?
