Ford Issues “Do Not Drive” Recall Warning On Thousands Of Vehicles
on Jun 04, 2026

Ford is recalling more than 420,000 vehicles.
The recalls involve several models, including the Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, Bronco Sport, and Maverick, due to various safety concerns.
According to ABC News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a report that certain Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators from the 2018 through 2022 model years may have faulty seat belts.
The problem is that the seat belts may unexpectedly lock up, preventing them from retracting properly. If a crash happens, that could increase the risk of injury for passengers. Other concerns include the seatbelt causing harm if it rapidly retracts.
As of right now, Ford Motor Co. has been made aware of at least one injury connected to the issue.

Additional Models Are Under A “Do Not Drive” Warning
A “do not drive” warning has been issued for certain Bronco Sport and Maverick owners. The recall affects nearly 5,000 vehicles and stems from a possible issue during assembly, per Car and Driver.
The recalled models include 2021-2026 Bronco Sports and 2020-2026 Mavericks. According to Ford, the front lower control arm ball joint on some of these vehicles may not have been installed properly, creating a potential safety concern.

Dealerships have already been notified about the recalls and are prepared to help affected customers. Owners of impacted vehicles are expected to receive a letter in the mail by June 5 letting them know if their vehicle is part of the recalls.
If this is the case, it’s a good idea to contact your local Ford dealership and schedule an inspection as soon as possible.
Any necessary repairs related to these recalls will be completed free of charge.
