Learn all about Billy Ray Cyrus’ six children: Brandi, Trace, Christopher, Miley, Braison, and Noah.

Billy Ray is the father of six children, with the majority of them choosing to embark on careers in the music industry, following in their father’s footsteps.

In 1993, after marrying Tish Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus adopted her two children, Brandi and Trace. Over their nearly 30-year marriage, the couple welcomed three more children: Miley, Braison, and Noah. Additionally, Billy Ray has a son, Christopher Cody, with Kristen Luckey, whom he dated before meeting Tish.

In April 2022, Billy Ray and Tish conveyed their divorce through a joint statement to PEOPLE, emphasizing the significance of family during that period.

“It is after 30 years, five amazing children, and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts,” they said. “We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths.”

“We will always be family and look forward to a continued and loving shared experience as friends and parents,” they added.

Trace Cyrus, 34

Born as Neil Timothy Helson in February 1989, Trace Dempsey Cyrus is Tish’s son from her previous marriage. As a musician like most of the Cyrus family, Trace served as the lead singer and guitarist for the band Metro Station, who is most popular for their 2007 hit, “Shake It.”

In August 2023, the musician hinted that being associated with the Cyrus name might have impeded his career.

“I love my family so much, but I think I’d be much more successful if I wasn’t part of a famous family,” he wrote in a Q&A on his Instagram Stories. “People immediately want to judge me and discredit all my hard work because of who I’m related to.”

He also owns the clothing company From Backseats to Bedrooms.
