Grand Ole Opry Plans One-Of-A-Kind Show Celebrating The CMA Awards: Learn How To Get Tickets
on
Few people would dispute that the Grand Ole Opry is the most iconic institution in country music history. Likewise, the CMA Awards are the largest country music-specific awards ceremony.
So it should come as no surprise that the two share a close connection. Those born in the mid-2000s and beyond may not know that the Opry served as the home of the CMA Awards for 40 years, from 1974 to 2004.
On Sunday, November 8th, the Opry plans to celebrate that era at a special CMA Awards-themed show. The one-of-a-kind performance will begin at 7 PM CT and feature an all-star lineup.
Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Deana Carter, Jamey Johnson, Lorrie Morgan, Crystal Gayle, Keith Secor, and Molly Tuttle will perform that evening. Gill will serve as the host of the show.

A press release states that the show will include performances of CMA Song of the Year winners from 1974-2004. Additionally, old videos from the time when the CMA Awards called the Opry “home,” will be featured throughout the night.
The performers will also deliver a tribute to the late John Anderson, who passed away on October 21. The press release states that Anderson had originally planned to perform during this November 8th show.
How Can Fans Watch The Opry’s CMA-Themed Show?
If you want to watch the Grand Ole Opry’s CMA Awards-themed performance, you’ll have to be in Nashville.
The Opry typically doesn’t air its Sunday evening performances on TV, and those performances usually aren’t livestreamed online. Therefore, you can’t watch the show from home. You won’t be able to listen on the radio either, as only Friday and Saturday evening shows are broadcast on WSM Radio.
There’s a chance the Opry will post videos or photos on social media or YouTube after the show. So make sure you’re following all of their official profiles if you want to see what they share.
There is still one way to guarantee you can see the entire show…you can watch it in person! Tickets are on sale now through the Opry’s official website. Scroll to the bottom of this page and click the button that reads “Get Tickets” to secure yours.
There are still several seats available as of this writing (on November 4th). But if you’re interested in attending, you’ll want to act fast before tickets sell out!
When Are The 2026 CMA Awards?
As mentioned above, the Opry’s November 8th show is a celebration ahead of the main CMA Awards ceremony. That ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 18th.
The 60th CMA Awards will air live on ABC and Disney+ at 8 PM ET/7 PM CT that evening. The program will be available to stream on Hulu the following day, November 19th.
Reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson is hosting for the third year in a row. Performers have yet to be revealed, so stay tuned for those announcements.
