For more than a year, the singer-songwriter kept her fight with this deadly disease a secret from the world…

Stefani explained during a recent residency date in Las Vegas that she was “the first one to have COVID” back in early 2020 and that she was forced to make some tough choices due to it.

Her “Just A Girl” residency show at the Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood had originally been scheduled across eight different dates in February 2020 when it had picked back up after the holidays…but she only ever made it to half of them. The remainder of the 2020 dates were also canceled.

Running through November 2021, her show has recently welcomed guests back starting with a performance on October 22nd.

Recently married to the one and only Blake Shelton, 52-year-old Stefani opened up about her life to the audience during one of the first two shows in 2021.

“I would literally take people up here and make out with you, but…I gotta make it through the next eight shows. I was the first one to have COVID, in case you wondered. I was in Vegas,” she told the crowd at the Zappos Theater. “Do you remember when I canceled those four shows?”

“Just because I can’t touch you, I’m still breathing your air right now, so that’s the risk that I’m taking because I love you guys.”
