Hayden Panettiere’s Loved Ones Gather For Intimate Memorial One Month After Her Death

Hayden Panettiere’s family and friends gathered over the weekend to honor her life.
The actress and singer died on August 16, 2026 at just 36 years old. Her father, Skip, shared the devastating news in a statement to ABC News:
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” the statement read. “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
Most well-known for her her roles in Nashville, Remember the Titans, Bring It On, and Raising Helen, Hayden began acting at a young age. In the years leading up to her death, she had been vocal about her struggles that have gravely impacted her.
The day after her passing, Greenville, South Carolina, authorities issued a statement sharing that emergency personnel responded to a report of an unresponsive female at Judson Mill Lofts just before 2 p.m.
For years, Hayden struggled with what she described as a “horrible cycle” of depression and anxiety while trying to keep up with the demands of her career and a busy filming schedule.
Family & Friends Gather To Remember The Life Of Hayden Panettiere
On Saturday (September 19), Hayden’s loved ones gathered in Malibu, California to celebrate her life.
According to TMZ, the late actress’ family, including her father, Skip, organized the memorial. Around 150 people were reportedly in attendance.
Hayden’s former Nashville co-star Connie Britton was among the celebrities spotted at the star-studded memorial, as well as Charles Esten and Ruby Rose.
The outlet reports that Charles also performed one of her songs from Nashville, accompanied by a band inside the church. Guests allegedly gathered outside before the ceremony to watch doves being released. They then made their way inside the church for the memorial service.
