Two months after “Nashville” actress Hayden Panettiere‘s death, the investigation into her passing has come to a close.

Beloved actress Hayden Panettiere died on August 16 at the age of 36.

Hayden Panettiere was reportedly visiting Greenville, South Carolina, with her ex-boyfriend, Brian Hickerson. Hickerson, a native of Greenville, was staying at a Judson Mill Loft apartment with his brother, Zach. The men were at the apartment at the time of Panettiere’s death and called 911 after they found her unresponsive, an incident report released by the Greenville Police Department indicates.

On the day of her death, authorities responded to the 911 call from the luxury apartment complex regarding an unresponsive female who had suffered apparent cardiac arrest.

First responders arrived to find Panettiere and administered “advanced cardiac life support,” but attempts were not successful. She was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.

Following the completion of an autopsy, Greenville County Coroner Mike Ellis shared preliminary findings and confirmed that Hayden showed no signs of trauma. However, the Greenville City Police Department began an investigation with assistance from the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration).

The investigation was an effort to determine whether Panettiere had obtained illicit and possibly counterfeit drugs from a dealer in Southern California prior to traveling to Greenville, South Carolina.

The Latest On The Investigation

A statement obtained by Country Rebel from the Greenville Police Department on Wednesday (Oct. 28) reveals that the department has “concluded its investigation,” adding that Panettiere’s death has been ruled accidental.

In late September, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office released the actress’s official cause of death. The autopsy report indicated that her death was caused by “toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, Alprazolam, Methocarbamol, and Quetiapine.”

A month after her death, family and friends gathered at a private memorial service to remember Hayden.

On September 19, Hayden’s loved ones gathered in Malibu, California, to honor the actress. TMZ reported at the time that her family organized the event that was attended by roughly 150 people.

Among those in attendance were Hayden’s former Nashville co-stars Connie Britton and Charles Esten, as well as Ruby Rose.
