Jelly Roll wins Male Video of the Year award for his breakout country single “Need a Favor.”

Tonight in Austin, Texas, the 2024 CMT Music Awards brought together country music’s brightest stars for a night of celebration— and there was a lot to celebrate for Jelly Roll.

Jelly Roll was announced as this year’s Male Video of the Year winner for his hit song “Need a Favor.”

Jelly Roll’s “Need a Favor” soared to the top spot on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, marking the artist’s second consecutive No. 1 hit. This track, released in February 2023 as the lead single from his debut country album, Whitsitt Chapel, was collaboratively written by himself, Rob Ragosta, Joe Ragosta, and Austin Nivarel.

Other nominees for the category included:

  • Bailey Zimmerman with “Religiously”
  • Cody Johnson with “The Painter”
  • HARDY with “Truck Bed”
  • Jordan Davis with “Next Thing You Know”
  • Luke Combs with “Fast Car (Official Live Video)”
  • Morgan Wallen with “Last Night” (One Record At A Time Sessions)

This victory marked a special milestone for Jelly Roll, whose performance of the song made its debut on the CMT stage just one year ago. The success of “Need a Favor” has propelled Jelly Roll to new heights, earning him not only the Male Video of the Year honor but also the Performance of the Year award tonight and one of the biggest awards of the night, Video of the Year.
