John Rich Sworn In As Trump’s Selection To Advocate For U.S. Farmers

15 years ago, in 2011, country artist John Rich won Season 4 of Celebrity Apprentice, hosted by future President Donald Trump.

On Friday, July 10, Rich was sworn in as the Special Envoy for American Landowners at a ceremony in the Oval Office.

Trump’s appointing of Rich for this role was announced in June, with a news release from the United States Department of Agriculture noting that Rich would be working alongside the USDA in “protecting private property rights and ensuring that landowners are not harassed, intimidated, or pressured by outside interests.”

Ahead of the swearing in ceremony, Rich posted on X, formerly Twitter, writing, “I greatly thank [Trump] for giving me the opportunity to fight for my fellow Americans.”

John Rich Sworn In By Ben Carson

On July 10, John Rich was joined by his family in the Oval Office as he took on a new role.

Administering the oath was Ben Carson, who is serving as National Advisor for Nutrition, Health, and Housing at the USDA.

Of the swearing in ceremony, Ben Carson posted on X, writing, “John has always been a tireless champion for America, our freedoms, and the hardworking people who make this country strong. I know he will serve with conviction, courage, and a deep love for our nation.”

More On John Rich’s Past With Trump

Rich has long been outspoken in his championing of conservative ideals, and he earned a unique distinction in 2011 from the future 45th and 47th president when he won the title of “Celebrity Apprentice.”

In total, Rich raised over $1.3 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during the course of his time on the show Trump hosted on NBC.

Season 4 of Celebrity Apprentice, featuring Rich, is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, showing off Rich’s wide range of talents and offering a unique look into Trump’s leadership style years before he formally entered politics.
