Actor J.R. Martinez, who is an Army veteran, competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2012 and during week 3, performed to Tim McGraw’s “If You’re Reading This.”

In a heartfelt and emotionally charged performance on Dancing with the Stars, veteran and actor J.R. Martinez moved both the judges and the audience with his dance to Tim McGraw’s poignant ballad, “If You’re Reading This.” The performance left a lasting impact on viewers.

Martinez, a decorated army veteran and eventual winner of the coveted mirror ball trophy, used this platform to honor his fellow soldiers and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The dance was a powerful testament to Martinez’s deep gratitude for his comrades and his unwavering dedication to their memory. It’s also a reminder of how close Martinez came to making the ultimate sacrifice. In 2002, he was driving a Humvee while on tour in the Middle East when his front left tire hit an IED. He suffered smoke inhalation and severe burns to more than 34 percent of his body.
