Did You Know That Julianne & Derek Hough Recorded A Country Duet?

Julianne and Derek Hough are multi-talented siblings as dancers, actors, singers, and TV personalities. But did you have any idea that also recorded a country duet together?

Over the years, Julianne has successfully transitioned from being a professional dancer on Dancing With the Stars, to a country artist, to a movie star.

Julianne released her debut country album back in 2008. It was obvious from the start that she was welcome in the community. Her album snagged the top spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and also peaked at the third spot on the Billboard 200 album chart.

Julianne released two singles from that album, called “That Song in My Head” and “Hallelujah Song.” With those songs and her album, she managed to immediately make a name for herself in country music.

She was rewarded for her success in 2009, when she took home the ACM award for Top New Female Vocalist and Top New Artist.

Derek Hough Is A Singer Too

Included on Julianne’s album was a duet with her brother, Derek Hough, who is also a multi-talented star. Like his sister, Derek found his claim to fame as a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars, and is currently the pro with the most wins on the show.

Also like Julianne, Derek took some time off of Dancing in order to pursue his acting career and other projects.

Back when Julianne recorded tracks for her debut album, she featured a duet with Derek. The song is called “Dreaming Under the Same Moon.”

While Julianne sings lead on most of the song, Derek sings one of the verses and the chorus. Not to mention their voices sound amazing together, particularly when they harmonize with one another.

“Dreaming Under the Same Moon” was never released as a single, and Derek and Julianne rarely sing it together live. So it’s truly a gem in her catalog! Make sure to give it a listen in the clip above.
