Keith Urban Returned To His Tour After Cancelling Concert

Last Wednesday (October 15), Keith Urban cancelled his show for Thursday, October 16 in Greeneville, South Carolina. The arena where the concert was to take place, Bon Secours Wellness Arena, announced the cancellation on their social media pages, writing:

“Keith Urban has been advised by his longtime laryngologist Dr. Gaelyn Garrett, from the Vanderbilt Voice Center, to cancel his performance in Greenville, SC tomorrow night at Bon Secours Wellness Arena due to laryngitis which began earlier this week. He has been placed on complete vocal rest and Dr. Garrett is optimistic that he will be back onstage for his Nashville show.”

The Nashville show was scheduled for the following night on Friday, October 17th.

The arena also included a statement from Urban himself.

Hey Greenville, I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show,” he said. “I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert these days and I’ve never taken any of that, or any of YOU for granted. I’m looking forward to getting back there when we can!!!!!”

Like the statement said, the Nashville show was able to go on without a hitch.

Keith “Collapses” On Stage After Hearing A Fan’s Name

During his Nashville show, which did take place at Bridgestone Arena on Friday, October 17th, Urban was interacting with a fan who was holding up a sign that read, “Will you tell my fam I’m pregnant?”

He went up to her and asked her name, to which she responded, “You’re not going to like my name.”

Urban repeated the question back to her, and then asked her the question again. She said her name is Nicholle (pronounced Nicole).

Upon hearing this, Urban jokingly collapsed on the stage!

He held up his hand as though he was saying, “Why!” but then got up and finished his conversation with the fan, who revealed she had pit tickets to his Greeneville show the night before and because it got cancelled, she and her sister drove to Nashville to see him the following night.

Urban was so moved by Nicholle’s determination to see him, he got down from the stage to give her a hug and film a video for her family announcing her pregnancy. She even brought out a onesie that said, “Smallest Keith Urban fan.”

Keith was a great sport, and proved that maybe everyone really is reading into his split with his wife, Nicole Kidman, more than we should be.

Nicole Kidman Filed For Divorce From Keith Urban On September 30

Following 19 years of marriage, actress Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Urban just one day after news of their split went public.

Although the news wasn’t made public, the pair quietly agreed on terms of the divorce and a child custody agreement for their two daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14, nearly a month prior. Urban signed the papers on August 29, while Kidman signed on September 6th, according to documents obtained by The Tennessean.

The split came as a shock to fans, seeing as they always put on a display of a strong bond and unit as a family. Since the news of their split, there have been many stories trying to figure out what exactly happened, and many alluding to the fact that Urban may have been unfaithful.

The speculation comes after Urban changed the words of a couple of his songs to be about his guitarist Maggie Baugh, and her absence following the news of his split. However, Urban has previously switched out some lyrics but people just didn’t pay that close of attention. Some media outlets are also pointing out that Maggie Baugh has been absent from several of Urban’s shows following his divorce news, but they might not realize that she has her own headlining dates that conflict with Urban’s shows, and throughout this whole tour she has been splitting time on stage with Runaway June’s Natalie Stovall.

People also noticed that he changed some lyrics in his song “You’ll Think Of Me,” but if you look back at performance footage from years ago, he actually has been singing it that way since as early as 2006!
