Last-Minute Announcement

Announced just two hours before it began, the pop-up show showcased Urban’s classic live performance skills. Despite competing with other major events in the area, including AmericanaFest performances and a Disney on Ice show at Bridgestone Arena, Urban’s concert turned Lower Broadway into an open-air arena. It attracted both dedicated fans and curious passersby. According to WKRN, one lucky fan who got to witness Urban’s performance shared:

“We actually went to get some ice cream and said ‘Oh, I wonder what’s going on over here?’ It was a big surprise. We’ve been waiting for about two hours to see him, so we’re ready.”

Video captured from Ole Red, Blake Shelton’s bar along the famous stretch of Nashville honky tonks, offered a glimpse of Urban’s surprise concert. Check it out below!

Album Release

HIGH, Urban’s first studio album in four years, was released at midnight following the surprise show. Taking to social media, Urban wrote a long message about the new project, thanking everyone who was involved in making it.

“Out of all of the things that have changed in my life, one has been a constant. I love making music…My desire is for the ‘flow state,’ and that’s what happened when we started this album ‘HIGH.’ It just FLOWED and I feel the spirit of the whole album really reflects that. I hope you feel that too.”
