Store Releases Security Camera Footage Of Kelly Clarkson Following Alleged “Pretty Woman” Treatment

Just three days after Kelly Clarkson alleged that she had received the “Pretty Woman” treatment at a curiosity shop, the shop’s owner released surveillance footage of her visit.
On October 10, Kelly Clarkson visited Art of Play, a curiosity shop located in Brooklyn Heights. In a social media post after she left the store, the “Since U Been Gone” singer told fans that while in the store, she inquired about an automaton bird on display.
She claimed that when she inquired about purchasing the bird, the shopkeeper insinuated that she couldn’t afford the toy that came with a $15,000 price tag.
“Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn’t afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me,” she wrote in a post on X.
“Wow, dude. You’re an idiot and just lost a huge sale. But y’all should go check out Art of Play in Brooklyn if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman. For sure, check it out 👎.”
Clarkson’s post ignited an online feud between her and the store, which claimed that the bird was never for sale.
Art of Play released security footage of Kelly Clarkson’s visit to their store.
The footage was released to journalist Pablo Torre, host of the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast. Torre shared the video with his followers during Tuesday’s episode of his show.
The clip shows Clarkson and her children in the store for just under five minutes. Clarkson, who was wearing a yellow sweatshirt and a gray hat, is seen browsing the shop and picking up a telescope before spotting “Molly,” the bird at the center of the controversy.
While there is no audio with the footage, Kelly can be seen pointing to the bird as she and the shopkeeper converse. The interaction is brief as the man turns to help other customers. Kelly then returns the microscope she was holding to the shelf and makes her way to the door.
Before exiting, she turns to say something to a man behind the counter and seems visibly bothered as she gestures with her hands in frustration. She then walks out, and her kids follow.
While the footage confirms Kelly’s visit to Art of Play and the shopkeeper’s claim that Kelly inquired about the bird, it offers little additional insight into the visit, as there is no supporting audio.
