Samantha Busch broke her silence on social media on Friday (June 5), two weeks after the death of her husband, Kyle Busch.

The NASCAR community went into a deep state of mourning when news broke that Kyle passed away on May 21 at the age of 41. His family, and later, his death certificate, confirmed that he died after developing pneumonia that progressed into sepsis.

Kyle was remembered during a private memorial service on Tuesday (June 2). His son, 11-year-old Brexton, returned to the racetrack a few hours later and drove during a practice session at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Now, Samantha Busch wants to thank everyone who’s kept her family in their prayers since Kyle died.

“The prayers, messages, flowers, meals, hugs, and countless acts of kindness have carried us through the most heartbreaking days of our lives,” Samantha wrote in a post she shared on Instagram. “While our hearts are absolutely shattered, we have felt God’s presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you.”

She paired her message with a family photo of her and Kyle with their two children: son Brexton and daughter Lennix.

Samantha said the love that they’ve been shown in the midst of “this unimaginable time” has been a great comfort while they’re in “so much pain.” She added:

“Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people. There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry, yet time and time again God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone.”

Samantha closed her message by thanking everyone for loving her family and Kyle, writing, “We may never find the words to fully express what your support has meant to us, but please know that we are deeply grateful.”

Kyle Busch Was Honored With A Touching Tribute At The Coca-Cola 600

Kyle Busch had intended to race in the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 24. Sadly, he passed away three days beforehand.

NASCAR CEO Steve O’Donnell led a tribute to Kyle at the race. Samantha, Brexton, Lennix, and other family members stood next to Steve as he said:

Samantha, I want you to know that this sport stands with you, and that you and your children are NASCAR family forever. Brexton and Lennix, your dad loved you with all his heart. Everyone gathered here, everyone behind you, everyone watching on TV, and all those people up in that grandstand, they are your family, and we’ve got you.”

Samantha cried as she embraced Brexton. In another moving moment, 11-year-old Brexton was comforted by Kyle Larson’s son, Owen.
