Fans have been asking Lainey Wilson for new music, and she’s finally delivered. The country star has released her latest single, “Kinda Love It.”
Lainey released the full song on Friday, October 9, after teasing it for a few days. She shared a short clip of the track on Instagram, giving fans an idea of what to expect.
Even from those few lines, it was clear that she had a fun, upbeat song on her hands.
In the preview, Lainey sings about giving in to a relationship she never planned on. Using the phrase “I got a tiger by the tail,” she describes a romance that got more serious than she ever expected. But in the end, she wouldn’t have it any other way, singing, “I kinda love it.”

“Kinda Love It” was co-written by Lainey, John Mayer, Kid Harpoon, and Jon Decious. Mayer also plays guitar on the song.
The way she came up with the lyrics was a little different from how she’s usually written songs throughout her career.
In an Instagram Reel, she explained that she didn’t have a plan when she went into the studio. It’s something she’s been trying more often while working on new music, and she’s found that she really enjoys writing this way.
So, there they were in a room together, tossing around melodies and lyrics when suddenly Lainey said, “I kinda love it.” The phrase stuck, and the song basically wrote itself from there.

Along with the new song, Lainey surprised fans by releasing an official music video starring her husband, Devlin “Duck” Hodges.
If you’ve followed Lainey’s music for a while, you know Devlin has inspired her songs before, like her hit “4x4xU.”
The video starts with Lainey asking her husband what he’s up to, but all he tells her is to trust him. That idea carries throughout the video, with Lainey riding on the back of an ATV while Devlin drives them around.
She seems to be having a blast and clearly enjoys all of the unexpected adventures he brings into her life.
The song has only been out for a few hours, but fans already can’t get enough. They’ve flooded the comment section, sharing how much they love it, and love seeing Devlin make an appearance.
