Lainey Wilson Is Stepping Into A New Era
Country music star Lainey Wilson is giving fans a glimpse at what she’s been working on, teasing that something special is in the works!
In a video posted to Instagram, Lainey first shared with fans that her recent songwriting sessions have been a little different than usual. Instead of walking into the writing room with a clear plan or knowing exactly what she wants to create, the “4X4XU” singer explains she’s been allowing the songs to develop naturally.
Lainey said that while she has always enjoyed carefully piecing songs together, she’s discovering that there is something exciting about letting the music guide the creative process.
“Feels like I’m stepping into something new and enjoying the ride. 💛,” Lainey wrote.

Lainey Wilson Teases Brand New Song
Lainey’s next single, “Kinda Love It,” is set to arrive this Friday, Oct. 9, and the country star shared a little preview of the track.
Although Lainey didn’t reveal too many specific details about the song itself, she gave a tease in a video featuring her adorable pup, Hippie, after one fan asked when she would be releasing new music.
The track appears to be an upbeat take on the phrase, “tiger by the tail,” with the singer admitting that she “kinda likes” one.
For those unfamiliar with the expression, “tiger by the tail” means finding yourself in a difficult situation that can be hard to control. The phrase was made even more popular in country music thanks to Buck Owens’ 1965 hit “I’ve Got A Tiger By The Tail,” which uses it to describe a complicated relationship.
We’ll see what the song’s really all about come Friday. You can listen to the preview of Lainey’s upcoming track below.
Fans wasted no time sharing their excitement in the comment section, with many saying they already love it. It’s clear they’re more than ready to hear what she has coming next.
“OMG getting me through the week like 💃🏻💃🏻🙌🔥 A HIT ALREADY!!,” one fan wrote.
“Literally screaming at work about this omggg Lainey 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻😭😭😭 IM COUNTING THE HOURS DOWN,” another commented.
John Mayer, who recently teamed up with Lainey on “Phone, Keys, Wallet,” was also quick to show his support, commenting, “Fire. It. Up.”
