Brad Paisley Helped Induct Taylor Swift Alongside Lainey Wilson

When Taylor Swift was first getting started, she opened for Brad Paisley on tour, so it made perfect sense that he be the one the induct her into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Like many artists, Paisley decided to prank his young opener. He decided to release “thousands” of live crickets on her tour bus. During her acceptance speech on Monday, she revealed she couldn’t sleep for months because of it, and even considered getting a lizard to help get them all!

But, because he introduction at the Hall of Fame was so kind, she said she’d let it go. In an Instagram post celebrating the night, Paisley said he stands by his cricket prank, even calling is a “legit truly boss prank.”

Lainey Performed One Of Taylor’s Earliest Country Hits

Along with the speech from Paisley, Lainey Wilson was present to perform one of Swift’s biggest songs in the country genre.

Wilson chose to perform “Love Story,” which was the lead single off her 2008 album Fearless. The song went to No. 1 on several charts including Hot Country Songs, Pop Airplay, Adult Contemporary, and other charts in foreign countries.

It’s gone on to have multi-platinum certifications in six countries, selling over 18 million copies worldwide.

Wilson performed the song unplugged with just a guitar, bass, and violin accompanying her. It was such a beautiful rendition, and fans are wondering if she will be releasing her own version of the song anytime soon.
