Lainey Wilson Teases New Music On The Way
It has been ten months since CMA Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson released her last single, “Somewhere Over Laredo.” The dreamy song reached the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart in early December 2025, becoming Wilson’s fifth number-one single. Additionally, it was the most-added song at country radio the week of its release.

As the Louisiana native has been touring the world in support of her Whirlwind album, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of more music.
At the end of January, Lainey dropped a mysterious teaser on social media: a silent, black-and-white video directing fans to cantsitstill.com. On the landing page, fans could unlock an audio clip of a new song titled “Can’t Sit Still.” No additional details were given at that time.

Release Date Confirmed For “Can’t Sit Still”
On Monday, March 9th, Lainey Wilson confirmed that a release date has been set for her newest song. “Can’t Sit Still” will be available everywhere this Friday, March 13th. Pre-save it here.
In a press release, Lainey reveals that “Can’t Sit Still” reflects her life over the last two years. She writes:
“I’m always on the go — moving from city to city, celebrating exciting milestones, and getting the chance to hug y’all’s necks along the way.”
She explains how her “Whirlwind” era was a time of self-discovery and learning how to stay grounded. She admits:
“At times, that whirlwind felt like a lot. But over time, I realized there’s something about the madness that fuels me. The busy lifestyle inspires me. It pushes me, keeps me creating, and reminds me who I am.”

The 33-year-old expresses her excitement to share this part of herself with fans and “embrace the chaos.” She concludes:
“Whether you’re a 10-year-old in a classroom being told to stop doodling and pay attention, a female CEO building her fifth company, a high school athlete trying every sport, or anywhere in between — know that I see you. Sometimes it’s the nonstop that keeps us going, and there ain’t nothing wrong with that.”
