Lauren Alaina Is Releasing A Duet With Lainey Wilson

Lauren Alaina Readies Release Of New Music

On Thursday (June 1), Lauren Alaina announced the upcoming release of a new six-song EP. Titled Unlocked, the EP will be Alaina’s first project released since leaving her prior record label and signing with Big Loud Records.

“Sometimes you have to look all the way back to really move forward. My heart is completely Unlocked with this new project. This is just the beginning,” Alaina said in a post introducing the EP on social media.

Alaina elaborated in a statement shared by CMT. She said:

“It’s been 13 years since we first met, and until a couple of years ago, I don’t know that I ever slowed down for more than a day or two at a time. I spent more time with the people that matter most to me – my family, my fiancé, my friends – during that period than I had in years. This music comes from my heart and my hometown. I am who I am because of where and who I come from, and I’m more me today than I’ve ever been. I can’t wait to unlock this next chapter with you.”

She echoed that sentiment in another post on Instagram, saying, “New music. Same old me. Just unlocked.”

Lauren Alaina Worked With Lots Of Other Stars To Create Her New Project

The EP was produced by Joey Moi, who Alaina said was a “life-changing” person to work with. Some of the tracks were co-written by other artists such as Cole Swindell, Ella Langley and Luke Bryan. There’s also a co-write from Reba McEntire‘s niece, Autumn.

Alaina co-wrote two of the EP’s six tracks. Those songs are “A Walk in the Bar” and “Thicc As Thieves.” The latter song is the only collaboration on Unlocked…and Lainey Wilson is the featured artist!

Wilson is known as one of the fastest rising stars in country music at the moment. She just made a massive sweep at the ACM Awards, where she won four trophies, including Female Artist of the Year. Wilson also wowed viewers with two performances: one being a duet with Jelly Roll and another being a solo performance of “Grease.”
