After more than 30 years off the air, Little House on the Prairie is returning with a reboot that will be available in just a few days.
The reboot was first ordered back in January 2025. The original series ran from 1974 to 1983 and was based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s famous books about her childhood.
Now, a brand new cast will bring the Ingalls family story back to life. The actors confirmed to star in the show include Alice Halsey as Laura Ingalls, Luke Bracey as Charles “Pa” Ingalls, Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline “Ma” Ingalls, and Skywalker Hughes as Mary Ingalls.

Little House on the Prairie will debut soon, and we already know a bit about what viewers can expect in Season 1.
The first season will be based on the third Little House book, which follows the Ingalls as they move to the small town of Independence, Kansas. But this new chapter isn’t the happy-ever-after they were looking for. They quickly find themselves facing multiple challenges along the way.
A logline shared by the streaming service says the show will be “part family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West.” The series will “offer a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”

How To Watch The Little House On The Prairie Reboot
The reimagined Little House on the Prairie will premiere on Thursday, July 9, with all eight episodes dropping at once.
To watch it, viewers will need a Netflix account, since the series will only be available to stream on that platform.

Back in March, Netflix announced that the series had already been renewed for a second season, even before the first season was released.
