The chemistry between country legends Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn was off the charts. While they were never romantically involved, they still shared a deep and powerful love for one another.

This love was brought out in their many duets, which is what made them so believable.

Lynn absolutely adored Twitty, and was devastated when he left this world on June 5, 1993. In an interview shortly after his passing, Lynn opened up about how much his friendship had meant to her:

“I’d have to say that knowing Conway Twitty has been one of my great pleasures in life,” she said.

One video that was filmed decades ago makes it obvious that the feelings were mutual where Twitty was concerned. The clip shows Twitty singing his iconic hit “Hello Darlin'” at the Grand Ole Opry.

A Sweet Serenade

Although the Opry house was packed full of people, Twitty only had eyes for Lynn, who was right beside him on stage.

Twitty directed his entire performance straight to Lynn, who had a smile on her face the whole time. She could also be seen mouthing the words to the song as she stared at Twitty with complete adoration.

Just like Lynn, Twitty couldn’t seem to wipe the smile off of his face as he sang “Hello Darlin'” to her. We’re sure that you’ll also find yourself smiling when you watch his performance below.

As if all of that wasn’t cute enough, Twitty concluded his performance by saying “I love you Loretta,” before he leaned over and sweetly kissed her on the lips. The two also shared an embrace, and Lynn could be heard saying “I love you too.”
