Devastating Wildfires Continue To Spread In Washington
As devastating wildfires continue to burn across eastern Washington, communities around the Spokane area face widespread destruction and ongoing evacuation orders.
More than 600 structures have been destroyed in the area while evacuation orders have affected tens of thousands of people. Officials have described the destruction as unprecedented for the community.
The fires have also caused significant power disruptions and sent thick smoke across the region. One man has been charged with arson in connection with one of the wildfires, as investigators believe the blaze was deliberately planned and started.

The wildfires have also caused disruptions in entertainment in the area, including sporting events and concerts.
Originally scheduled for Friday (August 7), country music star Luke Bryan’s performance at BECU Live at Northern Quest in Airway Heights, Washington, was postponed. His Saturday (August 8) show at White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, Washington was also rescheduled. Both shows have been rescheduled for October 10 and 11.
All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled performance. Fans who are unable to attend the new date are encouraged to contact the respective box office for further assistance.
On Friday (August 7), Bryan shared the real reason he was forced to postpone the Washington shows.
The country star said that halfway through his show the night before in Bend, Oregon, he began having trouble with his asthma due to the heavy nearby smoke.
“Having a show up in Washington tonight and tomorrow with certainly all the wildfires going, we just felt like it’d probably be best to come back and reschedule to where we know I’ll be 100%,” Bryan explained.
He then asked fans to pray for all of the brave men and women fighting the fires in the area. You can watch Luke Bryan’s full explanation here.
