Congratulations are in order for the talented Luke Combs!

The North Carolina native has captivated audiences worldwide since he first stepped onto the music scene, and it doesn’t look like he’s slowing down any time soon.

Growing up performing in his school musicals and his church choir, Luke Combs began singing at a young age. He decided to pursue music, even dropping out of college to chase his dreams in Nashville. In 2014, he released his debut EP, The Way She Rides, which laid the groundwork for his future success.

His big break came in 2017 with the release of his debut album, This One’s For You, which quickly climbed the charts and solidified his place in the country music landscape.

Now, Luke Combs has achieved a remarkable milestone in his career that his younger self could only dream of.

Luke Combs has made history by becoming the first artist to have three Diamond-certified country singles from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Last night (August 13), during his fifth-anniversary appearance at the Grand Ole Opry, Luke Combs was surprised by Sony Music Nashville with five new plaques. Two of those were for his new Diamond-certified singles: “When It Rains It Pours” and “Hurricane.” As reported by Music Row, these two tracks represent only the 10th and 11th country singles to achieve this honor.

“When It Rains It Pours” and “Hurricane” follow behind Combs’ hit “Beautiful Crazy,” which was certified last year.

If you’re curious, each Diamond certification represents over 10 million units sold, so it’s a big deal!

In addition to his Diamond singles, Combs celebrated the Platinum status for his 2022 album, Gettin’ Old, the five-time Platinum certification of his 2019 album, What You See Is What You Get, and his Grammy-nominated version of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car.”

Combs recently finished up his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour with his last show in Houston, Texas. Sharing a touching message on social media, he wrote:

“There are a million people who helped make it happen, so I can’t name them all but without the folks behind the scenes and you, the fans, none of it happens, so thank you. Thank you for continuing to give me the opportunity to do what I love, which is playing live country music for y’all.”
