Building A Dream Home

Paul Phillips, an elderly man, decided to build a dream home most men would absolutely love to have. It’s a house strategically built over a fish pond that has a trapdoor in the living room so he can fish anytime he wants.

“I love to fish, I fish every day.”

Why He Built The Fish Pond Home

Phillips says he loves to fish and goes fishing every day. The only problem is some places he likes to fish have people who sometimes tell him to leave, that he can’t fish there. So he made up his mind he’s going to build a home over a pond so he can go fishing and no one can stop him.

“One of these days I’ll have a place of my own where nobody can tell me I can’t fish there.”

Neighbors Love The Idea

First Phillips bought a piece of land and then rented a backhoe and dug out the pond. Once that was complete he hired a contractor to start building a 1,850 square feet house that comes complete with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a fishing hole in the living room.

“The lady next door, she just loves to fish, and this lady here, she can’t wait ’til spring to get here so she can hear the frogs a hollerin’.”

The neighbors love the idea of the fish pond home. Phillips says he will live there for a while then sell it to build a bigger house, on a bigger pond, that’ll have bigger fish to catch!

Brilliant idea, and can’t wait to see more pictures and videos of this place!
