Maren Morris Came Out As Bisexual In 2024
In June 2024, Maren Morris revealed to her followers that she identified as bisexual in a post celebrating Pride Month.
“Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+. Happy pride 🌈,” she wrote alongside a series of now-deleted photos of her holding pride flags.
She also stopped by actress Sophia Bush’s podcast Work In Progress, where she addressed why she chose to come out when she did.
“I felt like I wanted to celebrate it… And just for myself, I just wanted to have everything out there, like yep, I think those are things that should be forward facing for me,” Morris said. “Like, do you, but for me, I was like, my life is so open now. I’m not hiding any portion of myself. So it was it was out of like true like celebratory nature.”
The reveal also came just eight months after she filed for divorce from fellow country singer Ryan Hurd after five years of marriage.

Maren Posted A TikTok Video Describing Her First Experience Dating A Woman
Morris had recently been asked by a fan about how her “bisexual journey” is going, so the “Bones” singer decided to really tell her fans how it’s going: horribly!
She explained in the now-deleted TikTok video that she “briefly” dated a women, although she didn’t reveal when this was. Morris said she was “not looking for anything serious,” adding that she wasn’t “at a point in my life right now where just I don’t have that to give.”
But, as they continued to see each other, it was clear to the singer that “it was clear” the woman was looking for something more serious than Morris was willing to give her.
“And y’all I’m not kidding, within three weeks of this completely falling apart, it was lies, threats to my reputation, and borderline extortion,” she revealed. “It was pretty f—ed up. And for that to be my first experience, is just so depressing, and I was just like, I think I’m just really cool being alone.”
She decided to ask some of her lesbian friends if this was a normal experience dating a woman, and they all basically said yes. She also shared a piece of advice one of her friends had for her: just push through.
“Is that a thing?” she asked her followers.
