Mix-Up With Impersonator Leads To One Couple Meeting The Real Luke Combs

Imagine purchasing tickets to see your favorite country artist, only to arrive at the show and learn it was an impersonator all along.
This past Christmas, UK-based actress Catherine Tyldesley was hoping to surprise her husband, Tom Pitfield, with Luke Combs tickets. When she searched for his upcoming tour dates, she was shocked to find out that the “Hurricane” singer was coming to Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. She explained in an Instagram video:
“As part of Tom’s Christmas present, I was struggling with what to get him this year, but I knew that he liked Luke Combs, country singer, and I got some tickets, didn’t I? I got some tickets!“
Of course, the 2,300 capacity venue and the ticket cost of 30 quid (roughly $40) would have tipped off most fans that the show might not be the real thing. However, Catherine’s excitement blinded her to the red flags. She recalled:
“Went into work, flexing, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I got Luke Combs tickets!’ People were like, ‘Oh, we couldn’t get them!’ And I was like, ‘I’ve got them, mic drop!’”
Fast forward a couple of months, and when the couple attended the not-so-crowded show and the “opener” began to play Luke Combs covers with an Irish accent, the reality began to click. They realized that they had indeed bought tickets to a Luke Combs tribute band, and not the artist himself.
Catherine laughed off the mishap, admitting that it was one of the stupidest things she had done. Hear her tell the hilarious story below!
Luke Combs Treats Duped Couple To Backstage Experience
Thanks to her sizable following, Catherine’s story caught the attention of many, including a man named John, who works for Sports Entertainment Tours. John offered them a pair of tickets for Luke Combs’ future concert at Slane Castle in Ireland as part of his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour, which they graciously accepted.
But the story does not end there. Luke caught wind of their mix-up and gifted Catherine and Tom backstage passes, complete with a meet-and-greet before the show.
Catherine shared a few snaps from the night, and wrote:
“Special doesn’t even come close!!! It turns out @lukecombs had heard all about our ‘Mix up’ 😂😂 and invited us to do a meet and greet (pinch me now)
An incredible talent and such a kind soul.”
