Will Morgan Wallen be ESPN’s College GameDay’s celebrity guest picker this week?
Each Saturday during college football season, one celebrity joins the show’s regular panel to make their picks for some of the weekend’s biggest games. The special guest role gives celebrities and notable figures a chance to predict which teams will come out on top.
Many country music stars have appeared on the show, including Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, and Bailey Zimmerman. In many cases, the stars have served as guest pickers when College GameDay comes to their hometowns.
And now, speculation is growing over whether the country star could return home this weekend to join the crew as its celebrity guest picker.
College GameDay is headed to Knoxville, Tennessee, on Saturday, Sept. 26, ahead of the highly anticipated game between the Tennessee Volunteers and Texas Longhorns. While ESPN has confirmed the Knoxville stop, Wallen has not been announced as the show’s guest picker.
Still, several clues have fans wondering if the “Last Night” singer could be making an appearance. For starters, Wallen recently released new Tennessee-Texas merchandise on his website. The timing of the collection has fueled speculation that he may have more planned for the weekend.
Then there’s possibly the most obvious connection: Tennessee is Wallen’s home team. The country star grew up in East Tennessee and attended Gibbs High School in the Knoxville area.
Wallen has been a longtime supporter of the Volunteers and has been spotted at numerous sporting events over the years. In 2024, he brought several Tennessee sports figures onstage during his two-night run at Neyland Stadium.
His song, “The Way I Talk,” also includes a reference to cheering on Tennessee, and the song has since become associated with the Volunteers at Neyland Stadium.
