NASCAR fans were left in shock after one of their favorite drivers, Alex Bowman, suffered a terrifying crash that broke his spine. The veteran driver was celebrating his 30th birthday on Tuesday evening when disaster struck while racing in a Dirt Midget and Sprint car event at 34 Raceway in Iowa.
Bowman’s car was clipped from behind by an opponent, causing the high-powered open-wheel vehicle to fly off the track and launch into the air, bouncing and rolling multiple times before finally coming to a stop. The terrifying scene left spectators shocked as debris scattered around the track.

Bowman was immediately taken to the hospital by medics, and scans revealed that he had suffered a fractured vertebra. The setback means that the driver will need at least four weeks to recover fully from the injuries sustained in the crash.
However, Bowman has already sent a positive update to his supporters. Despite having missed five races in the past due to a concussion, he assured his fans that he is feeling okay, and his focus now is on healing and resting. The news of his injury was tough for his supporters, but the hope is that he will have a swift and successful recovery.
