Morgan Wallen was arrested Sunday night (April 7) and is facing three felony charges after an incident at Eric Church’s new bar, Chief’s.
According to an arrest affidavit, two Nashville police officers were standing on the sidewalk in front of Chief’s bar in downtown Nashville when a chair fell from above them and hit the street. The chair landed approximately three feet from the officers who went to investigate the incident.
Bar staff told the officers that Morgan Wallen had thrown the chair from the bar’s sixth story rooftop. Surveillance footage provided by the establishment confirmed that Wallen was responsible for the thrown chair.

Sunday’s arrest wasn’t the first for Morgan Wallen who was also detained in 2020 following an incident at Kid Rock’s bar.
On May 24, 2020, Wallen was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication after he was reportedly “kicking glass items” and got into a verbal altercation with passersby. The Metro Nashville Police Department said, “Officers gave (Wallen) several opportunities to walk away with his friends, but he refused to walk away.” They concluded that he was “a danger to himself and the public” and placed him under arrest.
