Nick Reiner, Son Of Rob Reiner, Appeared In Court For The First Time Since Getting Arrested
32-year-old Nick Reiner appeared in court on Wednesday (Dec. 17) to be arraigned for the murders of his parents Michele and Rob Reiner.

Nick was supposed to appear in court on Tuesday (Dec. 16), but was not “medically cleared” to be transported from the jail to the courthouse, as reported by CNN.
Fox News reports that Nick was wearing a blue suicide vest, also known as an anti-suicide smock, in court. Fox also obtained a courtroom sketch.
Nick has obtained high-profile defense attorney Alan Jackson as his counsel. Jackson has represented the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, and most recently, the high profile case of Karen Read.
Nick only said “Yes, your honor” when asked if he waived his rights.
Jackson explained to the court that it was “too early” for Nick to enter a plea of guilt or not guilty, the New York Times reported. He and the prosecution agreed the arraignment could be delayed. He is next due in court on January 7.
Nick has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as a murder conviction with “special circumstances” where the maximum sentence for Nick’s crimes are life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
Rob And Michele Were Killed On Sunday (Dec. 14)
Around 3:30 PM on Sunday, December 14, authorities were called to the Reiner residence in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. Michele and Rob Reiner were pronounced dead at the scene.
The New York Times reports that a massage therapist arrived at the home for an appointment, but no one answered the gate. The therapist called Romy, the couple’s daughter, who came over and discovered her father’s body. She left the house frantically and had her roommate, who was with her, call 911, never seeing her mother’s body as well. Romy learned her mother had also died from the paramedics.
Several hours later, her brother Nick was arrested for their murder. Rob and Michele were also parents to son Jake, and Rob’s adopted daughter, Tracy Reiner.

Romy and Jake released the following statement to the media on Wednesday (Dec. 17):
“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”
The statement continued, “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”
