Before he became one of the biggest viral stars ever, Oliver Anthony sat down to sing a heartfelt cover of George Strait’s “Amarillo By Morning.”

Humble, blue-collared, standing up for the everyday man, rising superstar Oliver Anthony dropped a video on TikTok where he’s singing George Straight’s classic, “Amarillo By Morning,” and to be honest… It’s as good as you’d expect it to be.

Sitting in his truck in the middle of the woods where he lives in Richmond, Virginia, Oliver Anthony has his signature guitar in hand and begins to strum the classic chords of the song.

According to a text overlay in the video that says, “Could you please do Amarillo by Morning by George Straight?” you can see that he’s answering a fan’s request to sing the song.

As the rain hits the metal roof of his truck, providing a beautiful background noise, he starts to sing the iconic words, “Amarillo By Morning, up from San Antone, everything that I got, LORD, is just what I got on. I ain’t got a dime, but what I got is mine. I ain’t rich, but Lord, I’m free. Amarillo By Morning, Amarillo’s where I’ll be.”

One of the greatest things about Anthony is even though he openly admits his vocals are not top-notch, you can tell whatever he sings, feels like it’s the truth – and that’s what people love most about him.
