In a surprise move, Oliver Anthony has signed with United Talent Agency (UTA), a premiere talent agency that represents some of the biggest names in entertainment.

Oliver Anthony is one of the most sought after country artists in recent history with record labels and other industry professionals reportedly making multi-million dollar offers to the singer following the success of his breakout single, “Rich Men North of Richmond.”

In a press release issued Thursday (Sept. 21), UTA revealed that they signed Anthony “for exclusive worldwide representation in all areas.”

“We’re honored to represent such an authentic artist, and excited to put together a global strategy to bring Oliver Anthony and his music to the people,” shared UTA Co-Head of Nashville Jeffrey Hasson and Music Agent Curt Motley.

The 31-year-old singer teased the news Tuesday saying he was “able to get on board with an official booking guy” that would help alleviate any future booking issues after recent confusion around his upcoming Knoxville concert.

Anthony skyrocketed to fame this summer after the video of him singing “Rich Men North of Richmond” went viral and became a modern day blue collar anthem.

The song made history when it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first song to do so with no previous chart placement. It was also the first song by a solo male artist to debut atop the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs chart simultaneously, per Billboard.

With roughly 2.3 million social media followers across all platforms combined, Oliver Anthony has shaken the music industry in a way never seen before. The Virginia native’s message rings loud and clear with many Americans. In a Facebook post dated August 16, Anthony shared why he thinks his music resonates.

“I wrote the music I wrote because I was suffering with mental health and depression. These songs have connected with millions of people on such a deep level because they’re being sung by someone feeling the words in the very moment they were being sung,” he said. “No editing, no agent, no bull****. Just some idiot and his guitar.”
