Oliver Anthony released his official video to “Rich Mans Gold” on October 5th and teased that he’ll be releasing more songs in the near future.
Oliver Anthony wrote in the description of the YouTube music video, “This was recorded the same weekend as ‘I Want to Go Home,’ ’90 Some Chevy’ and ‘Rich Men North of Richmond.’ Expecting to release at least two brand new songs in December.”
This is not the first time Anthony has recorded a video of him singing “Rich Man’s Gold” on the internet. But, this is the first time he’s released an official music video for the track. Just under a year ago, he released a video of him singing the song in his hometown.
Prior to that, Anthony shared another video on YouTube of him singing the song in the middle of the woods with his guitar and without his now-signature beard.
“You gotta start livin’ off the land, and livin’ on love / Givin’ up thanks to the Lord above / ‘Cause when they put you down in that cold dark ground / You gonna wish you won’t born to just pay bills and die / All you need is a dog, a shack with a creek in the back / And a… a good woman to hold / Don’t need that rich man’s gold”
The song sums up the simple reminder to be thankful for everything you have in life and to live life with purpose.
Overall, the official video of “Rich Mans Gold” was done very professionally. With the help of RadioWV, high-quality microphones and multiple cameras setup at different angles resulted in a music video that perfectly portrays the music Oliver Anthony is creating.
Filmed on his property in Farmville, Virginia, with a guest appearance from his dogs and his camper serving as a backdrop, Oliver Anthony performs “Rich Man’s Gold” with passion and conviction that his fans have come to expect from the singer.
