Oliver Anthony Releases Official Video For “Rich Man’s Gold”

The official music video for “Rich Mans Gold” has been released.

Oliver Anthony released his official video to “Rich Mans Gold” on October 5th and teased that he’ll be releasing more songs in the near future.

Oliver Anthony wrote in the description of the YouTube music video, “This was recorded the same weekend as ‘I Want to Go Home,’ ’90 Some Chevy’ and ‘Rich Men North of Richmond.’ Expecting to release at least two brand new songs in December.”

Oliver Anthony’s “Rich Mans Gold” official video is new, but the song isn’t.

This is not the first time Anthony has recorded a video of him singing “Rich Man’s Gold” on the internet. But, this is the first time he’s released an official music video for the track. Just under a year ago, he released a video of him singing the song in his hometown.

Prior to that, Anthony shared another video on YouTube of him singing the song in the middle of the woods with his guitar and without his now-signature beard.

What is the meaning behind the song?

“You gotta start livin’ off the land, and livin’ on love / Givin’ up thanks to the Lord above / ‘Cause when they put you down in that cold dark ground / You gonna wish you won’t born to just pay bills and die / All you need is a dog, a shack with a creek in the back / And a… a good woman to hold / Don’t need that rich man’s gold” 

The song sums up the simple reminder to be thankful for everything you have in life and to live life with purpose.
