Once Again, Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing At A Time” Tops Billboard 200

Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time sits at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the 17th week.

One Thing At A Time is Wallen’s third studio album, released on March 3, 2023, through Big Loud Records. The album features 36 tracks, with singles such as “You Proof,” “Thought You Should Know,” and “Last Night.” Additionally, the album includes collaborations with other country music artists such as Eric Church, HARDY, and Ernest.

Morgan Wallen Dominates The Billboard 200 Albums Chart

Upon its debut, One Thing At A Time claimed the top spot, maintaining its position for an impressive twelve consecutive weeks and making history in the process. Wallen achieved a remarkable achievement when the album reached ten weeks at No. 1, becoming the first solo male artist to have consecutive projects spend their initial ten weeks at the top since his previous release, Dangerous: The Double Album, accomplished the same feat in 2021.

According to Billboard, the album has remained within the Top 10 for 45 consecutive weeks.

How Does The Billboard 200 Albums Chart Work?

Billboard’s end-of-year data for 2023 solidifies Morgan Wallen’s position at the forefront of the country genre. This recognition further underscores his continued success and impact on the music charts.

The Billboard 200 chart assesses the most popular albums of the week in the U.S., utilizing multi-metric consumption metrics measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. These units encompass album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Notably, each unit is equivalent to one album sale or the sale of 10 individual tracks from an album.

Of One Thing At A Time’s 61,000 equivalent album units earned last week (ending on Jan. 11), SEA units comprise 58,000, album sales comprise 2,000, and TEA units comprise 1,000.

The new Jan. 20, 2024-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Jan. 17th.

In a statement released at the beginning of this year, Wallen explained that the album “brings together the musical influences that have shaped [him] as an artist – country, alternative, and hip-hop” and the album ended up with 36 songs “because [they] just kept exploring with fresh lyrics, music, and production ideas and these are the songs that felt right” to him.
