Pam Bondi, the former U.S. attorney general who was ousted from the Trump administration on April 2, has reportedly been battling cancer.

According to Axios, Bondi was “diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after departing the Justice Department.”

Axios goes on to state, “She underwent treatment and is recovering.”

This news comes as President Donald Trump appointed Bondi to an A.I. advisory committee with the White House on Tuesday, May 26. This committee is called the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.

On May 27, Bondi gave comment to CNN on her thyroid cancer diagnosis, saying she is recovering but is “doing well, though.”

The revelation of her diagnosis was reinforced by Katie Miller, a former staffer of the White House, who posted on X, formerly Twitter, that “Pam has been quietly kicking cancer’s ass the last few weeks.”

Bondi’s return to involvement with the work of the Trump administration comes after Trump had written on Truth Social on the day she was fired as head of the Department of Justice that Bondi would “be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector.”

Prior to her exit, she had received criticism for the rollout of the release of the files pertaining to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Pam Bondi Is Not The Only Person From Trump’s Inner Circle Battling Cancer Or Illness

Bondi’s diagnosis and treatment coincides with Trump’s White House Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, receiving treatment for breast cancer.

Wiles’ diagnosis was revealed back in March, with Trump writing on Truth Social, “She has a fantastic medical team, and her prognosis is excellent!”

Further, Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-wife, Vanessa Trump, revealed in a social media post on May 20 that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Additionally, Tulsi Gabbard resigned from her position as Director of National Intelligence last week, on May 22, citing her husband’s diagnosis with “an extremely rare form of bone cancer” as the catalyst for her decision.

Back in March, splotchy patches of redness on President Trump’s neck was observed by many. This, his doctor said, was being treated, but it follows his July 2025 diagnosis of having a Chronic Venous Insufficiency.
