Peyton Manning Makes His Country Music Debut In New Duet With Riley Green
on

Riley Green has released a new football rivalry anthem with an unexpected duet partner: Peyton Manning.
The retired NFL quarterback has long expressed his affinity for country music. Peyton hosted the CMA Awards alongside Lainey Wilson and Luke Bryan, and has even surprised concertgoers by grabbing a microphone and joining his country star friends onstage on more than one occasion.
Less than 24 hours ago, Riley began teasing a collaboration with Peyton, in anticipation of Saturday’s matchup between the University of Alabama and the University of Tennessee.

Peyton Manning was the starting quarterback at the University of Tennessee from 1994 to 1997. Over those years, he went 3-1 in annual matchups against Alabama, throwing for 919 yards and 7 touchdowns across those four games.
Although Riley Green played quarterback for the Jacksonville State Gamecocks from 2007 to 2009, his Alabama roots have made him a longtime fan of the Crimson Tide.
The rivalry between Tennessee and Alabama is one of the oldest and most storied matchups in college football. Every “Third Saturday in October,” the annual showdown brings together two passionate fan bases and decades of SEC history. This year, the game will take place on Saturday, October 17th.
Riley Green & Peyton Manning’s Duet Released In Time For Game Day
On Monday, October 12th, Riley Green released the full duet with Peyton Manning, simply titled “Alabama vs. Tennessee.” The recording is available on all streaming platforms, and the unlikely duo surprised fans with a music video to match.
The video opens with the country star strumming his guitar in a smoky honky tonk. Quickly, the football stars join him at the table and motion to the bartender for a couple of drinks.
Riley and Peyton alternate lines, taking playful stabs at the other’s team. Ultimately, they realize that their commonalities outweigh their differences. The chorus plays:
“I think this world could learn a thing or two
from a couple of good ol’ boys, like me and you.
I’m proud to pull for Knoxville,
Bout time for the Tide to take the field.
We out here in the same bar now,
Maybe different sides, but we’re setting up rounds.
Man, it ain’t you going up against me,
It’s just Alabama versus Tennessee.”
