In the Miss Kay did an interview with Movieguide afew months ago and revealed that the movie took place particularly during Phil’s formative years. From ages 18 to 28, Robertson grappled with challenges including substance misuse and fidelity, ultimately finding solace and redemption in his faith

“This movie shows me at my worst moments. It wasn’t easy for me to watch, especially at first,” Robertson told Movieguide. “But, The Blind is also a movie about love and hope. If a scoundrel like me can be redeemed, then believe me, so can you. There’s nothing you’ve done that’s beyond God’s grace.”

The Blind was filmed on location in Louisiana and will cover “never-before-revealed” aspects of Phil’s life.

“It was important to us that the film be real,” Willie Robertson told Deadline. “The transformation of Phil proves that anyone can change and that there is always hope.”

But ‘The Blind’ is also a movie about love and hope. If a scoundrel like me can be redeemed, then believe me, so can you. There’s nothing you’ve done that’s beyond God’s grace.”

When we agreed to do this film it was based on the understanding that we would tell it as accurately as possible in order to show the greatness of a God who redeems the worst of sinners. I was the worst of sinners. I was blind, but now I see!”
