Pillsbury Recalls 735,000 Units Of Popular Bread Products Across 19 States

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that an ongoing recall of two popular Pillsbury bread products is underway.
Initiated by Pillsbury, the recall notice from the FDA cites a “potential foreign material” in the products, which the FDA notes Pillsbury has identified as “glass.”
This has led to a combined total of over 735,000 units of the products in circulation being recalled in 19 states.

Which Pillsbury Products Are Being Recalled?
The first product marked in the recall is Pillsbury Bread Rolls, Hard Roll Dough, sold at the weight of 2.25oz each and noted as having a Better if Used by date of Oct. 12, 2026. Of this, General Mills distributed 3,080 cases of this product, with each case having 180 units, or a total of 554,400 units.
The second product marked in the recall is Pillsbury Bread Rolls, Kaiser Roll Dough, sold at the weight of 2.5oz each and noted as having a Better if Used by date of Oct. 13, 2026. Of this, General Mills distributed 1,260 cases of this product, with each case having 144 units, or a total of 181,440 units.
Altogether, that is 735,840 units of the products.
The recalls were initiated by Pillsbury starting on June 19, with the FDA giving a classification of Class II to both product recalls on July 13.
The FDA defines Class II as the following:
“[Class II is] a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
The 19 states impacted by this risk have been identified as:
- Arkansas;
- California;
- Florida;
- Georgia;
- Indiana;
- Louisiana;
- Maine;
- Missouri;
- New Mexico;
- New York;
- Ohio;
- Oklahoma;
- Pennsylvania;
- South Carolina;
- Tennessee;
- Texas;
- Virginia;
- Washington; and
- Wyoming.
