Vince Neil’s Private Plane Involved In Crash At Scottsdale Airport – 1 Death Reported

A plane owned by Mötley Crüe’s lead vocalist, Vince Neil, was involved in a fatal crash on Monday afternoon (February 10).

The plane originated from Austin, Texas, and crashed while attempting to land at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona. Authorities told FOX News the landing gear failed, causing the jet to veer off the runway and crash into a larger jet in its path.

According to FOX News, the plane’s registration connects to Chromed in Hollywood, Inc., which lists Neil as its director. However, Neil’s lawyer confirmed he was not on the plane at the time of the accident.

“On board, Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers…Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all the first responders assisting today.”

One person died as a result of the crash. Three others were injured.

“Today, Scottsdale sadly experienced an aircraft accident at our airport,” Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky told FOX 10 Phoenix. “Based on the information provided thus far, it appears at least one person is dead after two jets collided on the runway at Scottsdale Airport.”

Scottsdale Fire Capt. Dave Folio said one person remained trapped in the jet after the accident. First responders freed this person and transferred them to a trauma center in critical condition.

The crash is one of several aviation accidents in the news lately. On January 29, an American Airlines plane and a Black Hawk helicopter collided over the Potomac River, resulting in 67 deaths.

Then, on January 31, a medical plane crashed in a Philadelphia neighborhood, resulting in seven deaths.

Mötley Crüe Releases Statement About The Accident

Mötley Crüe released a statement from Neil’s representative, Worrick Robinson IV, later on Monday. The statement read:

“At 2:39 p.m. local time, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by Vince Neil was
attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport. For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane. On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane.”

The statement continued:

“More specific details regarding the collision are not available as this is a rapidly evolving situation and there is an ongoing investigation. Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.”

A report from ABC News states that authorities have not identified any of the victims.
