Post Malone Is Headed To Country Radio With HARDY And Morgan Wallen As “Pickup Man” Is Officially A Single.

Contrary to his usual blend of hip-hop and R&B sound, Post Malone is producing a country single and it’s coming to the radio! He marked his debut in the country music scene at the 2023 CMA Awards on Wednesday (Nov. 8). He joined HARDY and Morgan Wallen on stage for a lively performance of Joe Diffie’s 1994 hit “Pickup Man.”

It serves as the lead single for Hardy’s upcoming album, “Hixtape Vol. 3: DIFFTAPE,” scheduled for release on March 29th, 2024. After getting to enjoy the studio version, country fans everywhere were excited to hear that it is also set to be officially released as a single to Country radio. The promotion is being spearheaded by Big Loud, both Morgan and HARDY’s record label.

In a quick interview after the show, Post Malone expressed how he felt about his CMA Awards performance and even hinted at producing a country album in the near future.

“I had so much fun and it was an amazing experience.”

While Post Malone’s early work and breakthrough hits leaned more towards rap and hip-hop, he has demonstrated versatility in his music. He has often incorporated elements of various genres, including rock, pop, and country, in his songs. His eclectic taste and willingness to experiment with different styles have contributed to his broad appeal.

Post Malone has frequently expressed his admiration for country music, a sentiment that persists despite his recent shift from hip-hop to pop in his last few albums. His debut appearance at the CMAs, in what was described as a “can’t-miss medley,” marked a noteworthy moment. Last year, on The Howard Stern Show, Malone had even entertained the idea of creating a country album, stating.

“To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album.”

Just a couple of years back, Post Malone covered Brad Paisley’s “I’m Gonna Miss Her” and Sturgill Simpson’s “You Can Have the Crown,” which fans went crazy about. Watch the full video!

“I’m very grateful. I’m very happy to be a part of this. We’ve got a couple great musicians and we’re just here to play some of my favorite country-esque tunes and just have a good time.”
