Queen Latifah was so excited to meet Riley Green for the first time that she couldn’t even find the right words, so she just broke into song instead.

Last week, Queen Latifah hosted the American Music Awards. Before she kicked off the ceremony, she spoke with Entertainment Tonight about a few things, including her upcoming role as a coach on Season 30 of The Voice.

The rapper and actress was announced as the final coach to join the show’s lineup. It will be her first time ever in the iconic red chairs.

She’ll sit alongside Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and Riley Green, who is also making his debut as a coach this time around.

Filming hasn’t started yet, and the new season isn’t set to air until this fall. But the coaches are already getting acquainted with their future co-stars.

The most recent meet-up came between Queen Latifah and Riley Green, and it’s pretty clear she’s excited to have the country heartthrob on board.

When Latifah was asked about her first interaction with Green, she didn’t even hesitate. She immediately broke into Salt-N-Pepa’s 1993 hit “Whatta Man.”

“What a man, what a man, what a mighty good…” Latifah sang, looking straight into the camera. “I’m gonna leave it alone,” she added with a laugh.

Of course, it’s no secret that Green tends to get that kind of reaction a lot. Fans quickly flooded the comments on the clip, saying they feel the same way Latifah does.

“I love that even queen latifah feels the same thing that I have been screaming for YEARS 😂,” one person wrote.

“She ain’t wrong 🙌” said another.

“Saaaaame girl. Same 🔥,” someone else agreed.

Green was also starstruck when he met the Academy Award-nominated actress. He told E! News that she is someone he’s looked up to for years.

“That was a big deal,” he said about meeting Latifah. “She’s like a larger-than-life figure for me growing up.”

Green is slowly making the jump from country music star to a television personality.

Last month, he made his acting debut in the hit Paramount show Marshals. And on top of gearing up for The Voice, he’s also about to make his hosting debut for the CMA Fest TV special this week. His co-host will be GMA’s Lara Spencer.
