Radney Foster is taking even more time away as he continues to focus on his health.

In early July, the country singer took to his social media to let fans know he was recovering from a serious infection that landed him in the hospital and eventually the ICU.

At the time, Radney’s team announced that several of his upcoming shows would be postponed so he could prioritize getting better.

“Radney is recovering from a serious infection that required hospitalization,” the statement read. “While he is improving and has been released from the ICU, his doctors have advised him to take time away from the road to focus on his health.”

Radney ended up making his return to the stage on July 14. However, not long after, the singer realized his battle with sickness wasn’t over just yet.

On Tuesday, July 21, he shared another update with fans, explaining that he is still not well enough to make a full return to the stage.

Radney Foster Shares “Setback” In His Recovery

Radney hasn’t shared many details about his illness, but the 67-year-old revealed that he’s dealing with a “setback” in his recovery from sepsis.

He admitted that he came back to performing too soon and realized his body wasn’t ready yet.

“I’m still recovering from sepsis. My energy just isn’t where it needs to be yet,and I’m dealing with some balance issues that make traveling and performing unsafe,” he said.

Because of this, his doctors have advised him to cancel all of his scheduled shows through the end of September.

“That’s a hard thing to admit, but I’ve learned I have to listen to my doctors and my body,” he adds. “I’m going to spend the next couple of months focused on healing so I can come back healthy enough to give you the shows you deserve.”

Radney’s recovery may be taking longer than he hoped, but he has plenty of people behind him. Fans filled the comments section with well wishes, saying they completely understand his decision to take more time off.

A few supportive messages Radney received include:

“You take care of you. You can’t do what you love if you’re not healthy and feeling good. Sending prayers Randy!”

“Most important thing is your health. Your true fans understand and only want you well. Godspeed on your recovery and get back to us as soon as you can. We love you Radney!!!”

“Take care of yourself first!!! You are a treasure!!! The world can wait til you are back to!!! Love you!!!”

According to Radney’s official website, he’s set to have his first concert back on October 2, in Livingston, Montana.
